Simon Rumley & Bob Portal on Being Selected for SXSW 2010
Statements and reaction for Red White & Blue being selected for SXSW 2010 from Writer, Producer and Director Simon Rumley and Producer Bob Portal.
SIMON RUMLEY – WRITER, PRODUCER & DIRECTOR
“We are of course supremely excited to have been invited to play SXSW which over the years has become one of the coolest, freshest and most exciting festivals in the world and most certainly the top festival in the States for new cinema. When we shot Red White & Blue we were really taken aback by how friendly and generous the people of Austin were and how everyone on the shoot pulled together to make what we hoped would be an exceptional film. SXSW is giving us the opportunity to bring the film back home and show everyone the results of their hard labour; it’s a film we’re extremely proud of and hope everyone involved will be too and really can not wait for North American premiere to roll on. Tell your friends, tell your family, spread the word; it’s already been an amazing journey but once we’ve been able to share it with all our friends who made it with us, it’s gonna get even better!”
BOB PORTAL – PRODUCER
“We’re more than delighted to be able to hold our North American premiere in Austin, where it all began. This will be a great homecoming event and a chance for all the fantastic Austinites who helped with or worked on the production to see the film first on the big screen. So thanks to all at SXSW for selecting us. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been up to.”
